  15. We are an international company that has developed a networked 
  16. system of Amiga 1200 stations in custom cases with touch screens for 
  17. use as "Slot Machines".
  18.  
  19. We are currently using a serial based network, but are finding it
  20. too slow for our newest applications (IE: Live video to the terminals, etc).
  21.  
  22. The network has a host computer connected to a minimum 50 terminals 
  23. and a maximum of 3000 terminals (All located within one building.)
  24.  
  25. The current host is Amiga based, but can be Unix (Sun, HP, Motorola, Stratus).
  26.  
  27. The software requirements are quite straightforward: 
  28. * All communications are initiated by the host.
  29. * Most messages are broadcast to all terminals.
  30. * Some messages are addressed to the specific terminals.
  31. * Terminals only respond to the host.
  32.  
  33. We would like some suggestions as to what type of cabling, network cards, 
  34. and software would be best suited this application.
